Postural Conditions

Your Feet Are the Foundation of Movement
The position and function of your feet can influence the way your entire body moves.
Changes in foot posture may affect alignment through the ankles, knees, hips and lower back and in some cases contribute to pain, fatigue or altered movement patterns.
At Podiatry Medics, we assess posture, biomechanics and movement to help improve comfort, support function and reduce unnecessary strain on the body.
Common Postural Conditions We Assess & Treat
Bow Legs (Genu Varum)
A position where the knees remain wider apart when standing, increasing load through certain areas of the lower limbs.
Duck Feet (Out-Toeing)
When the feet point outward while standing or walking, which may affect movement efficiency.
Flat Feet (Pes Planus / Overpronation)
Lower arches that may increase stress through the feet, ankles and lower limbs.
Foot Drop
Difficulty lifting the front of the foot during walking which may alter gait and balance.
High Arched Feet (Pes Cavus / Over supination)
Higher foot arches that may reduce shock absorption and increase pressure in specific areas.
Knock Knees (Genu Valgum)
A position where the knees angle inward and may affect lower limb alignment.
Leg Length Differences & Heel Lifts
Small differences in leg length may influence posture, loading and movement patterns.
Overlapping & Underlapping Toes
Toe position changes that may contribute to pressure areas and footwear discomfort.
Pigeon Toes (Intoeing)
Feet that turn inward during standing or walking which may influence gait mechanics.
